- Veksler, Vladimir losifiovich
- (1907-66)Soviet nuclear physicist. Born in Zhitomir in the Ukraine, he worked as an apparatus assembler in a factory and later went to Moscow. His early research was in the field of X-rays, and in 1936 he was appointed to the Lebedev Institute of Physics in Moscow. Subsequently he became director of the high energy laboratory of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research.
